A preview of the amenities available at the Base campus of the Central Ohio Aerospace and Technology Center

Quality of Work Life is what we call it. The Base offers access to on-site facilities which make a great work environment for our tenants, serve as a magnet for companies which put a premium on employee satisfaction, and compliment the quality of life for residents and businesses in all of Licking County.

  • Walking Path: A new, dedicated walking path opened in 2008 that, some day soon, will connect to the Heath bike path network and the 44-mile trail network in Licking County.

  • On-Site Recreation: A fully-equipped fitness center operated by the City of Heath, Parks Division, offers aerobics classes, volleyball and basketball leagues as well as racquetball, gym, weight-lifting, sauna/spa, and tanning equipment for that lunch-hour or after-hours workout. The COATC also offers walking paths and outdoor picnic areas.

  • On-Site Training Room: The 30-seat Port Authority Board Room is available for tenant use for training sessions and small meetings. The room is equipped with a 50" SmartBoard multi-media interactive display unit that is internet-ready. In addition, other on-site locations are suitable for training events. Contact the Port Authority for more information.

  • Nearby Food Service: Over two dozen restaurants or food service facilities are within a five-minute drive. Such access means Base tenants can keep their employees close to their workplace during lunch breaks.

  • Nearby Day Care: Adjacent to the Base Campus, Southtowne Kids Club provides day care for infants through elementary school (age 11). The state-certified facility is easily-accessible to parents who work on or nearby the COATC campus.

  • Nearby Airport: The Newark-Heath Airport has a 4,700 ft. runway suitable for small jets and executive aircraft. The airport property is adjacent to the Base campus.

  • Nearby Retail: Just north of the Base on State Route 79 in Heath is one of Central Ohio's premier concentrations of retail stores and restaurants. Heath has it all.

  •
The City of Heath recently signed a new lease for the on-Base Rec Center through 2016. The new lease provides an incentive rate for membership for COATC employees and their families at $25 per individual and $40 per family per month.
