The Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority manages the former Newark Air Force Base which was privatized in
1996 and named the Central Ohio Aerospace and Technology Center (C.O.A.T.C.).
To the local community and in the minds of many who had contact with the facility when it was an Air Force Base,
this place will always be "The Base." Now, after successful Privatization in Place, The Base is home to Fortune
100 companies and small businesses. There are 19 different employers located at the COATC.
