The tenants on the Base campus of the Central Ohio Aerospace and Technology Center  



 

The Base The Central Ohio Aerospace & Technology Center is among Ohio's top five largest concentrations of the aerospace and defense industry. Combined, the employers at The Base employ over 900 people with an annual payroll over $57 million.

The Port Authority enjoys a strong working relationship with its existing tenants, testimony for others to locate at the Aerospace Center campus.

The Boeing Company
Boeing-Heath is the largest employer on the Aerospace Center campus. The Heath plant is recognized within The Boeing Company as a Strategic Fabrication Center for electronics, guidance, and navigation repair.

Boeing's strategic partners include Goodrich, Draper, Honeywell, Kearfott, Northrop Grumman, and L3 Communications.

AFMETCAL
AFMETCAL's mission is to develop and sustain precision measurement capabilities ensuring accurate, reliable, and safe air and space systems performance. The 562d Combat Sustaiment Group manages the AFMETCAL program.

Bionetics
Bionetics and its contract partner, Goldbelt Falcon, hold the government contract for metrology and calibration to manage the AFPSL, a model for outsourcing of a government laboratory.

Goodrich
Goodrich's Atlantic Inertial Systems provides maintenance, overhaul and repair of the inertial guidance systems for missiles. Goodrich, a company with an 140-year history in Ohio, acquired AIS from J.F. Lehman & Co. in December 2009.

DCMA Ohio River Valley
The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) is on-site at the Aerospace & Technology Center ensuring the Department of Defense contracts are delivered on time and to specifications.

Windstream
Windstream Communications maintains a switch and POP for its digital telecommunications and fiber optic network at The Base with a full-time employee located on site.

Alphalink
Alphalink, a Newark-based provider of internet connection services, signed a lease of facilities in May 2008 on which it deploys a wireless internet product. Antennaes are installed on the water tower as part of a Central Licking County wireless broadband service.

Heath Rec Center
The City of Heath operates an on-site recreation center which is convenient for on-Base personnel. See the amenities section for more background.
