2002 Projects Status Report

Rail Spur Upgrade--COMPLETE
Major renovation of the rail spur which traverses the COATC on the West side and just South of the Boeing Building was completed in December 2002. This spur serves Kaiser Aluminum and is available for future use by tenants of the COATC campus. The upgrade will improve safety and extend the life of the track. The upgrade is being undertaken by Kaiser Aluminum as part of an agreement with the Port Authority.



Building 3 Painting--COMPLETE
Painting is now complete on the maintenance shop building located at the northwest section of the main campus. The painting is part of an effort to improve the appearance of several out buildings on the campus and is done using in-house resources.


West Bridge Repair Project--COMPLETE
Construction is complete on repair of the western-most bridge entering the campus. Repairs, which began September 30, were suggested as part of an annual bridge inspection and were needed to properly maintain the bridge for years to come. Claggett & Sons of Newark completed the work in only 17 days, ahead of schedule and within budget.


Storm Sewers Repair Project--COMPLETE
A contract was let for repair of several storm sewer catch basins on the COATC campus. Repair work on the seven basins needing the most attention was completed October 25.
